Mickey is a portrait of my mother, whose love and encouragement shaped both my life and my creative path. A true earth mother, she nurtured my imagination with equal measures of freedom, trust, and unwavering support.

I created this sculpture as a tribute to the qualities that continue to live on through memory: warmth, generosity, humor, creativity, and an open-hearted acceptance of others. Though deeply personal, the work speaks to the enduring presence of those who leave an imprint on our lives. Their influence remains with us, quietly shaping who we become.

The heart she holds symbolizes the love she shared so freely. Her single eye references the camera she carried everywhere—a reminder of her curiosity, joyful spirit, and unique way of seeing the world.

This piece is ultimately a celebration of enduring love. It honors the people who continue to accompany us in unseen ways and reminds us that the deepest connections are never truly lost—they become part of who we are.
